Krab Kingz opens seafood restaurant with crab in East Peoria
A prime location and a quality product can be key elements of a new restaurant. But for Chloe Simpson, director of operations at Krab Kingz seafood restaurant in East Peoria, passion is an equally important ingredient in the recipe for success.
âWe will be successful because we have a passion for cooking and for the community,â she said. “We just want to bring a new taste to the East Peoria area.”
The location at 2517 N. Main St., East Peoria, would be difficult to improve, according to Simpson. Krab Kingz will be in a high traffic area, and Simpson anticipates that proximity to the Par-A-Dice Hotel and Casino, Stony Creek Hotel and Casino, and Spindler Marina will attract potential customers nearby. Once curious customers stop by for a meal, she believes, the quality of the food will make them loyal customers.

âEverything is from scratch,â she said. âWe prepare the food as the (customers) order. We are competitively priced and I think they will like our sauces. We have jerk sauce, jerk-butter sauce, cajun, honey-butter sauce, and garlic-butter sauce.
As the name suggests, Krab Kingz will offer crab in several varieties: King, Snow, and Blue. Other specialties include fried or boiled lobster tails, fried okra, okra, and a variety of fish ranging from grouper to catfish.

âI don’t know if we have a signature element,â Simpson said. âEverything on the menu is going to be quite good. We have âFit for a Kingâ platters that contain King Crab, Snow Crab, Blue Crab, Shrimp, Corn, Potatoes, Sausage, and Two Drinks for $ 149.99, which is a good deal.
